North Sumatra Regional Police Chief Inspector General Whisnu Hermawan Februanto inaugurated on Wednesday (17/9/2025) the nutrition service unit (SPPG) of Central Tapanuli Sub-regional Police on Wednesday, highlighting its role in improving child nutrition and youth development.
“SPPG can reduce stunting rates and enhance the quality of human resources,” he said during the inauguration ceremony, as reported by antaranews.com
The facility, now fully completed, is expected to benefit more than 3,400 students in the district. Besides providing nutritious meals for children and pregnant women, the center will also serve as a hub for nutrition interventions, maternal and child health services, social activities, and community education.
Its operations involve collaboration between the police, local administration, small businesses, farmer groups, and cooperatives.
Chief Whisnu also joined community leaders in planting corn seedlings, symbolizing local food security efforts. He emphasized that nutrition and self-reliance in food supply would lay the foundation for a stronger future for Indonesia.
