inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto asked Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto to carefully consider the number of human resources needed and scholarships from the Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) to ensure they align with future industrial developments.
After attending a closed meeting on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) at his residence in Kertanegara, Jakarta, Brian stated that President Prabowo reiterated his concern about the development of new industries in Indonesia related to food security, energy, and mineral downstreaming.
"We are again reminded to carefully calculate the human resources needed, including LPDP scholarships and other resources. This must be aligned with the industrial development plans that will emerge in Indonesia, so that what is being done at universities, as well as LPDP scholarships and other resources, is correct and on point," explained Minister Brian on Monday (10/20/2025).
President Prabowo emphasized that the number of human resources prepared in universities must be in line with existing industrial growth.
The preparation of competent human resources is also related to the implementation of the President's priority programs, such as Free Nutritious Meals, Fishing Villages, and the Merah Putih Village Cooperative.
Therefore, the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology continues to formulate human resource readiness in higher education, including curricula that must keep pace with technological developments, such as the use of artificial intelligence.
In addition to aligning with the President's priority programs, the need for human resources in the STEM field is also necessary to bolster the defense industry.
"We have been asked to prepare various human resources in these fields. Moreover, the defense sector, for example, is now heavily influenced by technology. So, it is hoped that technological mastery and human resources will match the industries that will grow in Indonesia," said the Minister of Education, Science, and Technology.
