inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital, Nezar Patria, said that the government is currently synchronizing the Presidential Regulation to strengthen the implementation of personal data protection (PDP).

On his occasion, he revealed the harmonization of the Presidential Regulation is a derivative of Law Number 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection (UU PDP). He admitted that as many as 216 articles in the Law were discussed in depth every day.

"Several articles are being harmonized every day, there are 216 articles if I'm not mistaken. The Presidential Regulation is being discussed at the Ministry of Law," he said, as reported by the RRI on Friday (1/17/2025).

He explained that in the Presidential Decree there are a number of additions that include cyber security and emerging technologies.

With the efforts to accelerate the strengthening of personal data protection, he hopes that the Presidential Decree can be completed in the near future.

"We hope that at least in the 4th week of February the Presidential Decree will have been harmonized," he concluded.
