inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Prof. Abdul Mu'ti asked the public to be patient regarding the school learning mechanism during the upcoming Ramadan month. He denied the news that there was a Ramadan holiday for learning activities.
"We are not saying it’s Ramadan holiday, because some people stir it by saying it’s Ramadan holiday. What we meant is that it’s school activities in the month of Ramadan. We have discussed it with the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, the Minister of Religion, and the Minister of Home Affairs, then me and the Office of the Presidential Staff of the Republic of Indonesia," he said, as reported on the RRI page on Friday (1/17/2025).
On this occasion, he revealed that there has been an agreement across ministries regarding the learning mechanism for students during the month of Ramadan. However, all of that still has to wait for the issuance of the Circular Letter first.
"There has been a joint agreement. Just wait for the issuance of the joint circular letter," he said.
Prof. Abdul Mu'ti is currently being summoned by President Prabowo Subianto to the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. He will also report the issue of school activities during the month of Ramadan to President Prabowo.
He then reiterated that there was no statement of Ramadan holidays delivered by his party. He emphasized that the message that must be conveyed is learning in the month of Ramadan.
"The key word is not Ramadan holidays. But learning in the month of Ramadan, that's it," he explained.
At the end of the opportunity, he was reluctant to convey regarding the possibilities of children during the month of Ramadan to study from home.
"Wait until the Circular comes out, wait until it comes out," he stressed.
