inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Tomsi Tohir, encouraged the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) to transform into a leading face of humane public service.

According to him, the quality of Satpol PP's interactions with the public will shape public perception of the government's overall performance, so an approach that prioritizes empathy and service must be continuously strengthened.

Tomsi explained that a better capacity of officers is an urgent need, considering that Satpol PP members come from diverse backgrounds, ranging from honorary workers, Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK), to civil servants (ASN).

Therefore, training is needed to standardize competency standards, strengthen understanding of operational procedures, and build a culture of professional and empathetic service in every task.

In addition to improving competency, he also encouraged Satpol PP to introduce various service innovations that directly benefit the community.

He believes that the role of Satpol PP should not be perceived solely as enforcing regional regulations, but should also be present through social actions, such as helping children cross the street, supporting the distribution of humanitarian aid, and providing other services that strengthen community ties.

"Start being creative and coming up with new ideas to develop your work," he emphasized.

Tomsi also encouraged Satpol PP leaders in the regions to be role models in encouraging changes in organizational culture.

He hopes the spirit of transformation fostered through this training can be consistently implemented so that Satpol PP becomes more professional, trusted, and loved by the community.
