Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Muhaimin Iskandar, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR), announced that only the House Speaker, Puan Maharani, will attend the 79th Independence Day ceremony in Nusantara Capital City (IKN). 

“It seems only the DPR Chair will be present,” Iskandar, also known as Cak Imin, said on Sunday (21/7/2024).

He expressed hope for the success of this inaugural Independence Day event in IKN. 

“I hope the ceremony will be a success and run smoothly. Due to limited space, only the heads of institutions will attend,” Muhaimin added.

As many as 76 national candidates for the Flag Hoisting Troop (Paskibraka) have been training at Taman Rekreasi Wiladatika in Cibubur, Depok, from 12 July to 10 August 2024, in preparation for the Independence Day event. 

“These trainees represent their regions from across the country,” said Antonius Benny Susetyo, the Special Staff to the Chair of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP).
