Inp.polri.go.id - Bantul. Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno raised the need to increase flight availability to meet the target of 20 million foreign visitors annually.

Speaking after a visit to Krebet Tourism Village in Bantul, Yogyakarta, on Saturday (20/7/2022), he stressed that boosting the number of direct flights to Indonesia is crucial.

He noted that the demand for travel to Indonesian destinations is high, but flight availability is limited, causing full bookings from major hubs like Istanbul, Doha, and Dubai, according to antaranews.com.

Minister Sandiaga highlighted the government's focus on developing five super-priority destinations: Borobudur, Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara, and Mandalika in West Nusa Tenggara.

For domestic tourists, he suggested offering more affordable flight tickets to boost domestic travel. He also emphasized the importance of hosting world-class events, like Art Jog in Yogyakarta, to attract both domestic and international visitors.
