inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice Minister of Human Rights Mugiyanto emphasized the government's commitment to protecting the human rights of all citizens without discrimination, including ensuring everyone is free from persecution and violence.

In a statement in Jakarta on Friday (7/24/2026), Mugiyanto stated that the principle of non-discrimination is the basis of the Ministry of Human Rights' efforts to respect, protect, fulfill, enforce, and promote human rights (P5HAM).

"We are a ministry tasked by the Constitution and the President of the Republic of Indonesia to provide human rights protection to all Indonesians without exception," Mugiyanto said.

Mugiyanto made this statement while receiving input from the Indonesian Women's Alliance (API) on Thursday (7/23/2026).

He explained that the state is obliged to provide protection to all citizens without distinction of ethnicity, religion, race, or sexual orientation.

According to Mugiyanto, every citizen has the right to equal opportunities to work, worship, access education, and carry out daily activities without experiencing discrimination or violence.

"The government has a responsibility to implement P5HAM, which means respecting, protecting, fulfilling, enforcing, and promoting human rights," he said.

Mugiyanto also urged the public to stop all forms of persecution against any group. According to him, the government's priority is protecting the rights of every citizen, not a person's identity or sexual orientation.

"We must not discriminate. This includes opportunities to work, worship, attend school, and engage in activities. There must be no discrimination and no violence against them," he said.
