Inp.polri.go.id - Deli Serdang.  Idan Fauzan Richsan of West Java shattered the national pole vault record at the PON XXI Aceh-North Sumatra 2024. 

On Thursday (12/9/2024), at the Madya Athletic Stadium, Deli Serdang, he cleared a height of 5.31 meters, surpassing his own record of 5.30 meters set in 2018, exceeding the previous PON record of 5.15 meters held by Teuku Tegar of East Java from PON Papua 2021.

Idan expressed his joy at breaking his own record. 

“I’m thrilled to surpass my previous record. It’s the result of over a year of intense preparation and hard work,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com. 

Idan acknowledged the strong competition from experienced athletes but remained focused and composed during the event.
