inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. Member of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Darmadi Durianto, appreciated the government's steps in sealing 1.6 million units of illegal imported goods from China.

"We appreciate the steps taken by the Ministry of Trade as we have received many complaints from the public/domestic industry players who feel disadvantaged by the existence of these illegal imported goods," said Darmadi after directly reviewing the sealing of imported goods belonging to PT Asiaalum Trading Indonesia in Tangerang, Thursday (5/22/2025).

He said that the firm action taken by the government through the Indonesian Ministry of Trade is considered to have protected domestic industries and consumers from the impact of the existence of these illegal imported goods.

"We also ask for increased supervision of imported goods circulating domestically," he said.

Of the millions of illegally imported goods of the type of equipment, electronics, clothing and steel, it can add up to IDR 18.8 billion.

"These goods were imported from China by PT Asiaalum Trading Indonesia which is suspected of not being in accordance with applicable provisions related to import regulations," said Minister of Trade Budi Santoso.

In this case, the Ministry of Trade of Indonesia has secured 1,680.47 units of imported goods that do not comply with the provisions or are illegal imports from China.

"For these imported goods, they violate regulations such as no SNI, no goods registration number, no Indonesian language label, no manual/warranty card and no health, safety and environmental security number and no goods import documents," he added.

Furthermore, as a follow-up to the handling of these illegal imported goods, his party will conduct an in-depth investigation regarding the importer to immediately complete the documents according to applicable regulations.
