inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Directorate of Certain Crimes of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Unit has named 10 suspects suspected of misappropriating subsidized 3-kilogram LPG in Jakarta.

The Director of Certain Crimes Directorate, Brigadier General Nunung Syaifuddin in a press conference detailed that the 10 suspects consisted of five suspects who were arrested at the crime scene in North Jakarta and five suspects arrested in East Jakarta.

Nunung stated that the five suspects who were arrested at the crime scene in North Jakarta had the initials KF, MR, W, P, and AR as the driver and injector. One person with the initials RT is still on the run.

The mode used by the suspects was to take, transport, and move or inject the contents of subsidized 3-kilogram LPG into non-subsidized 12-kilogram LPG cylinders.

The case was first revealed from a public report. When the investigation was carried out, the police found the illegal activity of LPG adulteration.

"They were caught red-handed when they were moving the gas from a 3-kilogram subsidized cylinder to a 12-kilogram non-subsidized gas cylinder," he said.

From the crime scene, investigators confiscated a number of pieces of evidence, including 699 gas cylinders, six short regulators, one pack of hose glue, five large bags containing yellow-coded cylinder seals, and one small bag containing rubber or gas cylinder seals.

Meanwhile, at the East Jakarta crime scene, the suspects who were arrested had the initials BS, HP, JT, BK, and WS.

The way they adulterated the LPG gas is almost the same as those in North Jakarta.

From the East Jakarta crime scene, the evidence confiscated included 462 gas cylinders, three weighing scales, 93 LPG connecting spears or regulators, eight LPG connecting hose regulators, two bundles of orange 50-kilogram LPG cylinder caps, and one bag of yellow 12-kilogram LPG cylinder caps.

The suspects were charged with Article 40 number 9 of Law Number 6 of 2023 concerning the Stipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation to Become a Law Amending the Provisions of Article 55 of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Natural Gas in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) point 1 of the Criminal Code.
