Inp.polri.go.id – Lingga. The Lingga Sub-regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit have uncovered Illegal Logging Criminal Action in Lingga Regency on Thursday (1/11/2024). Head of Lingga Sub-regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Police Commissioner Adjutant Idris says that his party has arrested the prime suspect with the initials of E (49). E was arrested on Tuesday January 9th, 2024 along with 6 tons of boards and broti, 61 raw logs and 3 saw machines. In his official statement, Idris says that he will further investigate the case in accordance with the applicable laws. “For that I implore the public to be more aware and not to commit illegal logging. Let us together nurture our nature for our own future,” calls Idris. On the other hand, suspect will be charged with Article 83 Paragraph (1) letter b Law Number 18 of 2013 concerning Prevention and Eradication of Forest Destruction with a minimum penalty of 1 year and a maximum of 5 years in prison and a maximum fine of 2.5 billion Rupiah. At the end of the session, Idris hopes that the disclosure of this case could be a strong reminder for the public not to commit criminal actions. (ad/fa/pr/nm)
