Inp.polri.go.id - Bekasi. The Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Affairs announced on Tuesday (19/5/2026) enhanced surveillance measures to prevent foreigners from operating online gambling networks within Indonesia following the recent arrest of 320 foreigners operating an international online gambling network in West Jakarta.
"I have instructed the Director General to increase surveillance across all locations that could potentially host similar illegal activities," said Immigration and Correctional Affairs Minister Agus Andrianto in Bekasi, West Java, as cited by antaranews.com.
He noted that tracking problematic foreigners is challenging as many exploit visa-free visit facilities, prompting the ministry to strengthen cooperation with the National Police.
In addition to criminal prosecution, the Indonesian National Police (INP) are investigating potential stay permit violations and immigration document abuses. This enforcement operation is part of broader cross-border law enforcement strategies targeting complex, technology-driven international gambling rings.
