Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Narcotics Board (BNN) of Indonesia uncovered a crystal meth trafficking ring in North Labuhan Batu, North Sumatra, following leads from a social media song titled "Siti Mawarni," which voiced public grievance over rampant drug operations. 

The BNN launched an enforcement operation on 13 May 2026, in the East Aek Kanopan area, arresting a suspect identified as RT and seizing 0.90 grams of ready-to-sell meth.

"We responded to the community, which specifically pointed to a location in Labuhan Batu. That is what we acted upon," said BNN Acting Deputy for Eradication Brigadier General Roy Hardi Siahaan during a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday (19/5/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.. 

He clarified that BNN regularly conducts operations and moves quickly to address the public's anxiety.

Authorities have designated the ring's coordinator, WW, as a fugitive on money laundering and drug offenses. The raid was part of BNN's wider nationwide crackdown between April and May 2026, which netted 31 suspects.
