"Our directive is for all SPPGs to include nutritional information and price labels on every meal they provide," said BGN VIce Head Sony Sonjaya at the MBG Talks event in Jakarta on Friday (2/27/2026).

This step is expected to encourage transparency and accountability among food service providers and prevent practices that lower the quality of ingredients.

By listing prices openly, each ingredient must be listed at its actual market price. Operational costs cannot be charged to the price of ingredients, as the average operational support of IDR 3,000 per portion is allocated separately.

This means that any attempt to lower the quality of ingredients while still listing a specific price will be easily detected..

This transparency is expected to foster a sense of responsibility and shame among partners, encouraging them not to compromise the quality of ingredients, thereby maintaining and continuously improving the quality of food received by the public.

When asked by reporters whether there would be sanctions imposed on SPPGs who fail to display price tags, Sony stated that this policy would be implemented gradually.

"Of course, it will be gradual. I just issued the order (to SPPGs) three days ago. And this is to improve their quality. So, at the very least, anyone who intends to cheat, for example by reducing quality, will be monitored by the public. The price of eggs, the price of bananas, must be written down and labeled," Sony said.
