inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that President Prabowo Subianto's administration continues to expand access to education through the Community School (Sekolah Rakyat) program and accelerate the renovation of damaged schools in various regions.

Teddy stated that community schools are intended for children who cannot access formal education, including dropouts or those who have never attended school.

"Children who cannot attend school, have dropped out, or perhaps have never attended school, are sent to community schools," he said.

He explained that students not only receive free education but also accommodation, nutrition, and health insurance. He explained that in the past year, the program has reached approximately 16,000 to 22,000 students in 166 schools.

"This year, another 100 schools will be built," he said.

Regarding school renovation in the regions, Teddy stated that the authority to manage senior high school education rests with the governor, while elementary and junior high schools fall under the authority of the regents and mayors.

However, the central government continues to intervene to accelerate renovations because much of the damage has not been addressed for years.

Throughout 2025, he said, around 16,000 schools have been renovated with a total budget of around Rp17 trillion through the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education.
