Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Indonesia is not yet receiving the reported suspension of U.S. grants and loans from official diplomatic communication from Washington, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday (29/1/2025).

"Indonesia will only provide a response based on formal communication through diplomatic channels or other official means between the two governments," said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Rolliansyah Soemirat, as reported by antaranews.com.

He emphasized that Indonesia would not speculate on general statements from other countries that are not specifically directed at Indonesia.

The White House Office of Management and Budget issued an internal memorandum on Monday, instructing a temporary halt to all federal grants and loans. 

The document states that in the 2024 fiscal year, over $3 trillion of the nearly $10 trillion federal budget was allocated for financial aid, including grants and loans. The suspension also applies to foreign aid, NGOs, diversity programs, and initiatives linked to executive orders.
