Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia and China have agreed to deepen strategic cooperation in artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure and digital talent development, focusing on key sectors such as agriculture and fisheries.
“One of our AI development priorities is the fisheries and agriculture sectors. We look forward to China’s support in this area,” said Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid during a bilateral meeting in Jakarta on Saturday (26/7/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
She emphasized Indonesia’s readiness to partner with Chinese companies at the local level, provided Indonesian laws are respected. The countries will also promote cooperation between universities, including a proposal for China’s Tsinghua University to open a branch in Indonesia.
The Ministry is prepared to facilitate collaboration with Indonesian institutions. The partnership aligns with Indonesia’s broader digital transformation agenda and its ambition to scale AI-driven productivity.
