Indonesia started aggressively, with Nathan Tjoe-A-On delivering a precise free-kick that Justin Hubner converted into a goal in the 13th minute. Ole Romeny doubled the lead in the 27th minute with a calm finish past Oman’s goalkeeper Ahmed Faraj.
The third goal came in the 56th minute when Dony Tri’s through ball reached Ivar Jenner, who cut back for Ragnar Oratmangoen to score.
This result was significant as Oman currently ranks 79th in FIFA standings, and Indonesia had not beaten them in 38 years. The victory boosted confidence in Indonesia’s squad and delighted thousands of supporters at GBK.
