Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir, raised his optimism about Indonesia’s potential to achieve remarkable results at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

"While it's not impossible, we need to aim for more gold medals in the future. Stakeholders in Indonesian sports must unite and prepare well in advance," he said on Wednesday (14/8/2024).

Minister Erick noted that Indonesia's performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics was good, with unexpected successes in two sports, including weight lifting and climbing, both winning gold medals, as reported by antaranews.com.

He encouraged all sports disciplines to aim for similar or greater achievements at the upcoming Olympics. He emphasized the importance of thorough preparation to surpass current successes and reach new heights.

Indonesia ranked 39th in the Paris 2024 Olympics, with two golds and one bronze medal. Veddriq Leonardo won gold in climbing, and Rizki Juniansyah in weightlifting. The first medal, a bronze, was secured by Gregoria Mariska Tunjung in badminton.
