Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang.  Olympic medalists from the Paris 2024 Olympics will use their government bonuses to improve local training facilities.

Weightlifter Rizki Juniansyah, who won gold, shared his plans on Wednesday (14/8/2024) to upgrade the Sasana Bulldog Gym in Serang, Banten, where he trained.

"I hope to enhance the gym so I can continue achieving medals in future competitions," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

He also planned to save part of his bonus for future financial security, acknowledging that an athletic career can be short-lived.

Similarly, climber Veddriq Leonardo, another gold medalist, intended to invest in training facilities and save for his future.

Indonesia's team ranked 39th in the Paris 2024 Olympics with two golds and one bronze. Gold medalists receive a bonus of Rp 6 billion each, while bronze winners get Rp1.65 billion. Coaches of gold medalists are awarded R p2.75 billion.
