Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) listed 213 Indonesia's Intangible Cultural Heritage (WBTB), including legends or folklore, food recipe, language, traditional games, and performing arts such as dance. The Director of Cultural Protection Judi Wahjudin states the hundreds of cultural heritage listed as WBTB covers five domains from Indonesian 31 provinces. “What is important is our future plans as part of our responsibility in pushing forward our cultural state for the benefits of whole community,” says Judi on Monday (10/30/2023). Other than WBTB, the 19 National Cultural Heritage for five categories of the cultural heritage from the eight provinces have also been given by Kemendikbudristek. Judi says his party continuously tried to preserve and protect the Indonesian heritage through listing and determining the heritage both in CBN and WBTB as it is part of ministry responsibility. On the other hand, the cultural heritage potential and benefits should also be pushed for it is one of the efforts to preserve the culture from time to time. “We and our collaborators will design instruments for better evaluation and execution, which then will also be implemented by our colleagues across Indonesia,” says Judi.
