inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment (Menko PM), Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, stated that Indonesia can no longer remain in the "middle" zone or merely remain at a mediocre level, but must move up a level.

"We must be fully committed. Indonesia must truly move up a level. Today, and in the future," said Coordinating Minister Muhaimin, Wednesday (February 11, 2026).

He made this statement after reviewing Indonesia’s growth in a decade, which was not yet fully transitioning to becoming a developed nation.

Furthermore, Muhaimin emphasized the importance of collaboration across sectors and generations in advancing Indonesia's grand ambitions of moving up a level.

He also emphasized the need for Indonesia to rely more than just on natural resources, as natural resources are limited and insufficient to provide a foundation for long-term progress.

"A developed nation is born from industrialization and downstreaming, supported by science, technology, and an empowered society," said Muhaimin.

Therefore, Muhaimin introduced a distinctive, adaptive, and inclusive approach to promote Indonesia's progress towards becoming a developed nation.

According to him, distinctiveness means building unique national advantages, not simply imitating other countries.

Adaptiveness means being responsive to global changes, including the energy transition, digitalization, and disruption to the global economy.

Inclusiveness, meanwhile, means ensuring that industrialization involves the wider community, especially those living near industrial areas.

He explained that community involvement is necessary so that they not only receive the impact but also become an integral part of improving their quality of life and economic progress.
