Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.   Indonesia's U-17 national football team has qualified for the U-17 Asian Cup 2025 after a goalless draw against Australia in their final match of Group G qualification at Abdullah Al Khalifa Stadium, Kuwait, on Sunday night (27/10/2024).

The result secured Indonesia's place as one of the five best second-placed teams in the qualifiers, finishing with four points from matches against Australia and Kuwait, as reported by antaranews.com. 

According to qualification regulations, points are counted from games against the first and third-placed teams in the group. Indonesia's earlier 10-0 victory over the Northern Mariana Islands, the fourth-placed team, did not affect their qualification.

Australia topped Group G, earning seven points from three matches with a goal difference of +21. Indonesia also finished second with seven points but a lower goal difference of +11.

The result marked Indonesia's return to the U-17 Asian Cup for the first time since 2018, when they reached the quarter-finals. Overall, Indonesia has now participated seven times in the U-17/U-16 Asian Cup tournaments.
