inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono emphasized that Indonesia consistently supports Palestinian independence through the framework of a Two-State Solution to resolve the conflict between Palestine and Israel.

"Of course, our goal (Indonesia) remains focused on the 'two-state solution.' Indonesia still wants Palestinian independence and sovereignty," the Foreign Minister emphasized on Tuesday (1/27/2026).

This statement was made in response to a video of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto that went viral on social media, in which he said that peace in Palestine could be achieved if all parties guaranteed Israel's security.

The video was taken while President Prabowo was participating in the UN General Assembly in New York, United States, which took place in September 2025.

Previously, while still serving as Indonesian Minister of Defense, Prabowo Subianto initiated a scholarship program for Palestinian students, implemented in 2023, with placement at the Defense University. This program aims to strengthen Indonesia-Palestine relations through education.

Palestinian students participating in the program study in various fields, such as military medicine, military pharmacy, civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and information security engineering. The scholarship program demonstrates Indonesia's commitment to supporting Palestine, not only in political and humanitarian aspects, but also in strengthening human resources through education.
