inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) has urged the government to prioritize the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program in 2026 in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost regions (3T).
"Prioritize 3T areas. Focus the initial phase on areas with food insecurity and high economic vulnerability," said KPAI Vice Chair Jasra Putra, Tuesday (1/27/2026).
Furthermore, the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) must also evaluate the management of Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) kitchens to prevent food poisoning cases. The KPAI Vice Chair believes it is necessary for BGN to involve certified school canteens.
"Prevent cross-contamination by considering the empowerment model of certified school canteens," said Jasra Putra
The KPAI also believes it is necessary to conduct a survey involving children to assess their acceptance of the MBG Program. "Involve children in menu planning and feedback surveys," said Jasra.
Cross-sector collaboration is also considered crucial to ensure nutritional quality and hygiene.
"Comprehensive nutrition education is also crucial. Instill a clean and healthy lifestyle, not just sending thousands of food packages," he said.
Furthermore,Jasra also urged the provision of an easily accessible MBG complaint channel for the public. "Provide a complaint channel that is easily accessible to the public and parents," he concluded.
As of January 19, 2026, 21,102 SPPGs had been established, reaching 58.3 million MBG beneficiaries, with daily operational costs reaching IDR 855 billion.
