Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Health has identified 600,698 tuberculosis (TB) cases as of 27 September 2025, representing only 55 percent of the annual detection target of 1.09 million cases.

Officials said the figure falls short of the 70 percent milestone that should have been reached by this month.

“We have managed to treat 90 percent of detected cases, but 10 percent were lost to follow-up as patients did not return for treatment,” said Acting Director General of Disease Prevention Murti Utami on Monday (29/9/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

She added that 14 percent of the cases occurred in children, with the majority affecting adults.

Murti noted progress in drug-resistant TB treatment remains below target, with only 75 percent of patients starting therapy against the 95 percent goal. Preventive TB therapy has reached just 136,934 people.

The ministry has intensified active case finding through community health checks, prisons, and schools, alongside pilot “One Stop Service” clinics to prevent patients dropping out of care.
