Indonesia Secures U-23 Asian Cup Quarterfinal Spot, Defeating Jordan 4-1

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. In the final Group A match, Indonesia triumphed over Jordan 4-1, securing their place in the 2024 Asian Football Confederation U-23 Asian Cup quarterfinals at Doha's Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium on Sunday (21/4/2024). 

With six points, Indonesia finished second in the group, while Qatar topped it with seven points. 

Marselino Ferdinan's 21st-minute penalty gave Indonesia the lead, and Witan Sulaeman doubled it before halftime. Marselino scored again in the 69th minute, extending the lead. 

Despite Jordan's goal in the 79th minute, Komang Teguh Trisnanda sealed Indonesia's victory with a header in the 86th minute.

Indonesia advances to the tournament's next phase, according to antaranews.com.

Coach Shin Tae-yong's squad includes Ernando Ari, Muhammad Fajar Fathurahman, Muhammad Ferarri, Rizky Ridho, Justin Hubner, Pratama Arhan, Nathan Tjoe-A-on, Ivar Jenner, Marselino Ferdinan, Witan Sulaeman, and Rafael Struick.
