Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Religious Affairs, Nasaruddin Umar, has requested Saudi Arabia to raise the number of Indonesian Hajj officers from 2,210 to 4,000 to improve services for Indonesian pilgrims.

“That would make it easier for us to serve our people because we can understand their local and regional languages,” he said following a meeting with Saudi Minister of Health Fahd Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel and Saudi Arabian Ambassador Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amudi in Jakarta on Monday (24/2/2025)., 

Minister Nasaruddin emphasized that additional officers would not only benefit Indonesian pilgrims but also support Saudi authorities in managing Hajj operations, as reported by antaranews.com

The minister also urged Saudi Arabia to prioritize physical fitness over age when selecting Hajj participants, noting that many older Indonesians remain physically capable. If the age policy changes, he requested a one-year transition period for public outreach.
