Indonesia, the Seventh Asian Countries Visited by Kamala Harris

The Vice President of United States of America, Kamala Harris attend the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Indonesia, Jakarta, along with other invited guests such as Japan, South Korea, and China. This became the seventh times Kamala Harris has stepped foot in the biggest continent of the world, and the fifth time she visited Southeast Asia during her time as vice president of Joe Biden. Kamala Harris left the White House on Monday and arrived in Soekarno Hatta in Tuesday (6/9/2023) around 10:00 a.m. Her arrival was welcomed by the Indonesian Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin. Before went to Jakarta, Harris have visited Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Japan, and South Korea. She represented US as Joe Biden was scheduled to attend the G20 Summit in New Delhi, India on 9-10 September. According to White House spokesman John Kirby, Washington still consider Indo-Pacific and ASEAN as their strategic partner. Harris is determined to maintain good relationship with Indo-Pacific states as she frequently visited various Asian countries, says Kirby. Kamala Harris scheduled to have a direct talk with several head of states who attend the 43rd ASEAN Summit held in Jakarta Convention Center from 5-7 September.
