Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid said that the government will focus on AI development aligned with the president’s priority programs, particularly in areas that support food security and smart agriculture.

“The government will prioritize AI development that is aligned with the president’s priority programs,” she said during a working meeting with Commission I of the House of Representatives (DPR) on Monday (7/7/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The minister said the direction of AI development in Indonesia will be focused on sectors such as fisheries and smart farming, with pilot programs currently underway in Sragen and Klaten in Central java as well as Sukabumi in West Java.

Minister Meutya also announced that the Ministry is currently seeking approval from the State Secretariat to issue an official AI Roadmap, which will serve as a guide to building a responsible and inclusive AI ecosystem in the country.

The roadmap is being drafted in collaboration with 39 ministries and government agencies, ensuring it reflects cross-sectoral priorities and technological integration.
