Inp.polri.go.id - Changdu. In his debut at the 2024 Thomas Cup group stage qualifiers in Chengdu, China, Alwi Farhan, Indonesia's men's singles badminton player, sealed a decisive 5-0 Indonesia’s victory over England on Saturday (27/4/2024).

Alwi won over England's Cholan Kayan in straight sets 21-15, 21-12, in just 37 minutes. 

Anthony Sinisuka Ginting secured the first point for Indonesia with a victory over Harry Huang, while Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Jonatan Christie extended the lead to 3-0. Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri sealed the victory at 4-0. 

With this win, Indonesia has dominated England 8-0 in the last eight editions of the Thomas Cup.

The Indonesian men's squad are scheduled to face Thailand in their second match on Monday.
