Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia’s badminton team made history at the Australia Open 2026 by winning medals for the third consecutive year. Alwi Farhan claimed the men’s singles title after defeating Dong Tian Yao 21-13, 21-13 in the final on Sunday (14/6/2026).
In doubles, Indonesia earned two silver medals. Women’s pair Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Meiilysa Trias Puspitasari lost to China’s Jia Yi Fan/Zhang Shun Xian 24-22, 21-13, while men’s duo Sabar Karyaman/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani fell 21-15, 21-17 to Chen Bo Yang/Liu Yi.
The results maintain Indonesia’s championship tradition at the tournament. In 2025, the team won two golds through Raymon Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin and Rachel Alessya/Febi Setianingrum.
