Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Indonesian Army has deployed two helicopters to support ongoing disaster response operations across Sumatra, following a series of floods and landslides in several provinces.

Army Spokesperson Colonel Donny Pramono said the deployment includes one Mi-17 and one Bell 412, both placed under operational control of National Air Operations Commander Air Marshal Minggit Tribowo.

“These aircraft have been dispatched with full crews to accelerate assistance delivery in affected areas,” he said on Saturday (29/11/2025), as cited by antaranews.com.

The Mi-17, manned by First Lieutenant Dany, departed from Ahmad Yani Army Air Base in Semarang, Central Java, while the Bell 412, led by Major Henryko, took off from Pondok Cabe in South Tangerang, Banten. Both helicopters flew through four stages—Semarang–Pondok Cabe, Pondok Cabe–Way Tuba, Way Tuba–Jambi, and Jambi–Pekanbaru—before arriving at Roesmin Nurjadin Air Base in Riau.

The aircraft are scheduled to continue to Silangit, North Tapanuli, on Saturday.
