Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. At least 10 people were killed and 29 others injured in a mass shooting at Bondi Beach, Sydney, on Sunday (14/12/2205), prompting Indonesia’s Consulate General (KJRI) in Sydney to urge Indonesian citizens to remain alert. 

The incident occurred in the northern area of Bondi Beach, New South Wales, during a crowded public event, according to antaranews.come.

“The Indonesian Consulate General in Sydney urges Indonesians in New South Wales to stay vigilant, avoid the incident area, and follow instructions from Australian authorities,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in an official statement, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The victims include nine civilians and the suspected shooter, while several injured are police officers who responded to the scene. Australian authorities have secured the area, established a sterile zone, and are handling a suspected improvised explosive device.

No Indonesians have been reported affected so far. The Indonesian Consulate General in Sydney continues close coordination with local authorities and provides emergency assistance for Indonesians in Australia.
