Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong has urged Indonesian citizens in Macau to remain vigilant and follow all local safety protocols as Typhoon Matmo approaches the region.
“We strongly urge Indonesian citizens in Macau to prioritize safety and comply with official advisories issued by local authorities,” the consulate said in a statement from Jakarta on Sunday (5/10/2025).
According to the Macao Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau, the T8 tropical cyclone signal was hoisted at 2 am local time, prompting the temporary closure of the Indonesian Consulate in Hong Kong’s liaison office in Macau. The T8 warning, issued by the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO), indicates strong or gale-force winds that could disrupt public activities, close schools, and halt business operations.
The consulate advised Indonesians to delay travel and shelter in safe places, adding that passport renewal appointments remain valid until 19 October 2025.
