Inp.polri.go.id - Sidoarjo.  Search and Rescue (SAR) teams have discovered 13 more bodies under the rubble of the collapsed Al Khoziny Islamic boarding school (Ponpes Al Khoziny) in Sidoarjo, East Java, bringing the death toll to 37.

The bodies were found between Saturday night and early Sunday (5/10/2025)), according to Nanang Sigit, the Head of the Surabaya Search and Rescue Office, as reported by antaranews.com. 

Excavation work was carried out cautiously using heavy machinery and cutting tools, as rescuers had to clear debris and metal frames before reaching trapped victims. The operation temporarily halted several times to allow manual recovery for safety reasons.

All recovered bodies were sent to Bhayangkara Hospital, Surabaya, for identification by East Java Regional Police’s DVI team.

As of Sunday morning, 141 people had been recorded as victims of the collapse, 104 survivors and 37 fatalities, with rescue operations still ongoing in several affected zones.
