Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The State Secretariat has dismissed rumors suggesting a potential relocation of the Indonesian National Police (INP) to function under a specific government ministry.

Following a high-level joint leadership meeting of the Indonesian Military (TNI) and INP at the Presidential Palace on Monday (9/2/2026), State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi clarified that the INP Reform Team has not proposed any such institutional changes to President Prabowo Subianto.

"There is none," he said when questioned about the discourse surrounding the INPi's organizational position, emphasizing that the focus remains on institutional strengthening rather than structural reshuffling.

The State Secretary said that a robust state requires a solid bureaucracy alongside professional defense and security forces. While the INP Reform Team continues its work and provides routine updates to the President, current national priorities are centered on enhancing coordination between the military and police to ensure national stability.

He urged the public not to be distracted by institutional rumors, reiterating that the administration’s goal is to ensure the police force remains "strong and great" as an independent pillar of security.
