Inp.polri.go.id - Madiun. Indonesian Military Commander Admiral Yudo Margono stated that Indonesia's representatives in Egypt are continuously working to ensure that humanitarian aid from the government and people of Indonesia reaches the victims of the conflict in the Gaza Strip. "Our representatives in Egypt continue negotiations to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people," he said after inaugurating the HAWK 200 Aircraft armament monument in the Dumpil Toll Gate area in Madiun on Saturday (11/11/23).
He also mentioned that not only humanitarian aid from Indonesia but also assistance from other countries is currently detained in Egypt, noting, "We cannot intervene. Many other countries also have aid stuck, and we are assisting them in providing aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip." Earlier, on Saturday (4/11/23), President Joko Widodo dispatched humanitarian aid from the Indonesian government and citizens to Gaza at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport. The aid, weighing a total of 51.5 tons, including food, medical supplies, blankets, tents, and other logistical items, represents the first phase of Indonesia's assistance to Gaza, antaranews.com reported. Despite its arrival in Egypt on Monday (6/11/23) at around 8 am local time, the humanitarian aid is currently held in Egypt. (ar/inp/pr/nm)
