The Indonesian Vice President Ma’ruf Amin asked for the public transportation ticket price increase would be reasonable for the general public during the 2024 homecoming season. The statement was conveyed after a potential of ticket price increase that usually happened during the homecoming season, especially when the food price was also on the rise lately. “The food price increase indeed affects all other sector, including the transportation sector. However, we hope that the price increase would still be reasonable for the general public, we will see to it,” says Ma’ruf Amin on Thursday (3/21/2024). The government, said Ma’ruf Amin, has also anticipated the potential of traveler’s peak for the 2024 Eid homecoming season by preparing security sector and transportation availability. According to the Transportation Ministry data, it is estimated there would be 193 million people who would travel for the 2024 Eid homecoming season, which is higher than last year. “Regarding the increase, I believe this year is much bigger than last year.
