Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.   President Prabowo Subianto declared that Indonesia’s food production is in a secure and strong position, crediting a smooth transition from former President Joko Widodo’s administration for maintaining sector stability.

“Food production is in a safe and strong condition,” he said during a plenary cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday (6/8/2025), as reported by antaranews.com. 

The president emphasized that no nation can be truly sovereign without the ability to produce its own food, calling the sector a strategic priority.

He warned that food is often a target in efforts to disrupt national stability, underscoring the government’s focus on strengthening production. He highlighted rising farmers’ terms of trade and record-high state food reserves as signs that current policies are on the right track.

President Prabowo thanked all contributors to national food security and praised his cabinet’s teamwork, noting that significant progress has been made within a short period.
