Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) has operationalized seven new specialized research centers under the Police Science College (PTIK), ranging from forensic science to the protection of women and children (PPA).

“These research centers serve as a platform for academic discussion and rigorous research to advance police science in Indonesia, ensuring we no longer rely solely on tactical field maneuvers,” said INP Deputy Chief Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo after inaugurating the facilities on Tuesday (10/3/2026).

He said that integrating scientific research into law enforcement is essential for modernizing the force's operational capabilities.

The newly established units include the Center for Police Forensic Studies, led by Commissioner General (ret.)Petrus R. Golose, and the Center for PPA Studies, headed by Brigadier General Nurul Azizah. These centers join several existing units founded in 2025, such as those focused on counter-terrorism and cybercrime.

This initiative is part of a "pentahelix" collaboration strategy, positioning academia as a primary strategic partner in maintaining national security. To date, eight major universities, including Universitas Syiah Kuala and Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, have partnered with the INP, with 69 additional institutions across Indonesia currently finalizing cooperation agreements.
