inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Uncovering the abuse in one of the orphanages in Tangerang shows the strong commitment of the police in protecting the vulnerable groups and serving the people.

This statement was conveyed by the Head of Indonesian National Police (INP) Public Information Bureau, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko in his official statement on Wednesday (10/9/2024).

Previously, Tangerang Sub-regional Police has uncovered a sexual abuse case against dozens of children in Kunciran Indah Orphanage. Police have named S (49), the owner of the orphanage, as the prime suspect of the case, along with YB as the orphanage’s caregiver.

With the uncovering the sexual abuse against minor in Tangerang, Trunoyudo emphasized that police service for the vulnerable groups, which include children, became one of the focuses of the INP Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. In further showing his commitment, the police general even formed the new directorate of Women and Children’s Crimes (PPA) and Human Trafficking Crimes (PPO).

“To optimize the police service towards the cases that involve the vulnerable group, INP Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has formed a new Directorate of PPA and PPO as a strategic and collaborative move,” says Trunoyudo.
