Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. In guaranteeing freedom of press, Indonesian National Police (INP) along with Press Council are collaborating to fully support press independency.
Regional Supervision Inspector of Bali Police, Grand Commissioner Arief Prapto Santoso in his remark states that the collaboration between INP and Press Council hopefully could improve public literacy in processing the information.
“This collaboration has been going on and begins with the signing of Memorandum of Understanding between INP Chief and Press Council regarding legal protection in public spaces that has been regulated in Law. This will further improve by yearly socialization and hopefully could improve law enforcement and public awareness on freedom of speech,” says Arief.
The Head Bureau of Investigation Supervision, Brigadier General Iwan Kurniawan firmly stated that INP and Press Coucil could collaborate and mutually benefitted each other in providing information digitally or conventionally.
“In Law, it is clearly stated that freedom of speech is protected by law in Indonesia while still paying attention to the limitations as to not injure legal values,” says Iwan.
