He is known to be a fugitive in an alleged corruption case involving the management of PT Pertamina (Persero) crude oil, which is being handled by the Attorney General's Office.
The Head of INP's International Relations Division, Brigadier General Untung Widyatmoko, revealed that the red notice has been distributed to 196 countries.
"The Interpol Red Notice for Mohammed Riza Chalid, also known as MRC, was issued on Friday, January 23, 2026, or a week ago," said Brigadier General Untung in a press conference on Sunday (2/1/2026).
He explained that MRC's whereabouts have been detected, although he cannot be disclosed publicly. However, Interpol Indonesia has visited the country to follow up on his pursuit.
"Interpol's NCB unit supports law enforcement efforts against criminals who have fled abroad relating to their crimes in Indonesia, becoming international fugitives," explained the NCB Secretary.
