Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) appreciated labor unions and workers who voiced their aspirations in an orderly and peaceful manner during the International Workers' Day (May Day) 2026 commemorations. 

Rallies held across the country, particularly at the National Monument (Monas) square and the House of Representatives (DPR) complex in Jakarta, remained largely conducive on Friday (1/5/2026)

"The INP appreciates the labor masses for delivering their aspirations in an orderly fashion. This demonstrates a responsible attitude in expressing opinions and a shared commitment to maintaining a safe environment," said Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, the Head of the  INP Public Relations Division, in a statement reported by antaranews.com..

The two-star general highlighted that the police presence aimed to protect the participants' rights while ensuring public safety. He noted that the mutual respect between field personnel and protesters allowed activities to proceed smoothly without significantly disrupting public interests.

While major rallies occurred on Friday, several follow-up labor activities are expected to continue through Saturday in various regions.
