inp.polri.go.id - Tigaraksa. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo led the fourth-quarter of simultaneous corn planting, attended in person by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming in Tigaraksa on 3,861 hectares of land.
"This activity will be carried out on a total of 229,974 hectares of land with an estimated harvest yield of between 919,896 tons and 2.29 million tons," said General Sigit in his remarks, Wednesday (8/10/2025).
From the fourth-quarter corn planting land, the police empowered 602,208 farmers who are members of 30,548 farmer groups throughout Indonesia to participate in managing the land ready for planting.
The INP Chief further stated that the absorption of harvested crops will be focused primarily on supporting Bulog's corn absorption as part of strengthening national food reserves.
Furthermore, cooperation with the livestock feed business association will continue to be strengthened to ensure optimal and equitable absorption.
General Sigit explained that today, 1,268 tons of corn will be dispatched to Bulog for absorption throughout Indonesia. The symbolic launch will be held in Banten Province, with 160 tons being dispatched to Bulog's warehouse.
"We will continue to do this in order to fulfill Bulog's target of absorbing 1 million tons of corn," said the National Police Chief.
Also present at the event were the Coordinating Minister for Food, the Minister of Agriculture, the Minister of Forestry, the Head of the National Board of National Development Planning (Badan Bapanas), and the Head of the Statistics Indonesia (BPS).
In addition to planting corn, INP Chief also inspected the agricultural machinery assistance stand, led the launch of the National Police Food Security Warehouse, led the distribution of tilapia seeds, reviewed the Health Service, led the Affordable Food Movement, and symbolically released the corn harvest from the previous quarter.
