inp.polri.go.id - Aceh. The Aceh Regional Police Special Criminal Investigation Directorate, successfully arrested a suspected tiger skin trader.
The Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Aceh Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Zulhir Destrian, said the perpetrator had the initials SB (36). SB was arrested in Luweng Kutuben Village, Kuala Pesisir District, Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh Province.
"SB was arrested following a previous case that occurred in Southeast Aceh. At that time the perpetrator was about to buy and sell Sumatran tiger skin, on Wednesday (7/16/2025). However, SB was not at the location and he was arrested in Nagan Raya on Friday (10/3/2025)," he explained on Tuesday (10/7/2025).
In the case reveal, the police secured the evidence of tiger skin, 16 claws, two fangs, one finger bone, two hip bones, one joint bone, one skull bone, and two cell phones.
He also said that the arrest was after the police investigated in depth and tracked SB's whereabouts in the Nagan Raya Regency area.
"SB is strongly suspected of being part of a wildlife trade network that trades in tiger organs. The Sumatran tiger is a protected and endangered species," he explained.
SB was charged with Article 40A Paragraph (1) letter f in conjunction with Article 21 Paragraph (2) letter c of Law Number 32 of 2024 concerning amendments to Law Number 5 of 1990 concerning the conservation of natural biological resources and their ecosystems.
