In a recent virtual interaction, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP), engaged with police personnel from the Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force 2023 to assess the current situation in Papua following recent attacks by armed criminal groups (KKB). Addressing the personnel during a coordination meeting in Jakarta on Tuesday (7/11/2023), he expressed his eagerness to listen and interact with the task force officers. The officers reported on the current situation following the KKB attack in Yahukimo and Bintang Mountains regency. These areas are currently considered stable. Daily activities such as economic, health and education services have returned to normal. In recognition of the efforts and dedication of the Satgas Operasi Damai Cartenz, Chief Sigit awarded 35 personnel with special promotions. This gesture was seen as a motivating factor to further excel in their future duties. He expressed his appreciation for the reports submitted by the Damai Cartenz Task Force and praised the entire team for maintaining security and public order in Papua, recognizing their hard work and responsibility in maintaining peace for the implementation of the government's national development initiatives. "Your efforts have not gone unnoticed. We understand the challenges you face in your duties. Your role is crucial in overseeing the development processes in Papua," the INP Chief said. Stressing the need for unity and coordination, he emphasised the importance of maintaining stamina, unity, solidarity and coordination with the Indonesian military. "Maintain your stamina, unity, solidarity and coordination with your TNI counterparts. Success should be a collective effort.
