inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasized that daily community activities must be safe and free from acts of thuggery.

"We certainly do not want this thuggery to make the people restless. We want people to feel safe,  not only during the day, but also at night," said the Chief of INP, Jakarta, Wednesday (5/28/2025) as quoted from Antaranews.

The four-star police general also stated that Bhayangkara Corps personnel will continue to take action against thuggery in order to maintain public security and order.

"We are now focusing on things that are disturbing the community, especially those leading to criminal actions. We must step in to regulate and enforce the rules," he continued.

Previously, Sigit also emphasized his commitment to take firm action against all forms of thuggery that disturb the community.

The Chief of Police said that legal action would be taken without discrimination, regardless of the symbol or group the perpetrator came from.

The Police have been holding simultaneous police operations since May 1, 2025 in order to eradicate thuggery.

Head of the Public Information Bureau of INP Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, said that during the period from May 1 to 25, 2025, the police have prosecuted 10,353 cases of thuggery.
